Motorcycle and Scooter Day in France
On September 9th, ACEM will participate to the first event dedicated to the sustainable use of motorcycles and scooters in France. ACEM supported this event since its conception sharing its goals and values as the environment, mobility and citizenship are also at the core of ACEM’s mission.
Mobility is key to our quality of life and is vital for the EU’s competitiveness. The growing amount of traffic and increasing fuel prices are driving EU’s transport policy towards the concept of sustainable mobility, that is disconnecting transport from its harmful effects.
Motorcycles, scooters and mopeds are being chosen by European citizen because of their affordable price and their higher level of flexibility. PTWs have always been dynamic actors of the urban scene providing effective solutions to problems caused by congestion and parking. They have been able to provide citizens and businesses with improved access and increased mobility.
European PTW manufacturers have an important role to play offering a more sustainable mode of transport provided PTW are successfully integrated by lawmakers in transport plans. By representing an alternative to the use of cars, PTWs can successfully be integrated into co-modality traffic plans aiming at a fluid and sustainable transport system.
The Motorcycle Industry is committed to continue to play this role and work together with policymakers and users so that environmental damage, congestion and accidents can gradually be reduced in a way that boosts the efficiency of transport and ultimately the economy as a whole.
The French Motorcycle and Scooter Day will take place on Septembre 9th, at the Circuit Carole, in Paris. The event is on invitation only, please contact the organisation if you wish to participate.
10am : Inauguration ceremony, then opening of the tracks till 5pm
10am - 5pm : presentation of Honda ABS systems
12pm : lunch
12.30pm - 1.30pm : presentation of Peugeot scooter ABS systems
2pm - 5pm : Ecomoto driving Trophy
5pm : Award ceremony, Safety and Environment
5.30pm : Closing
Among the participating manufacturers are Aprilia, BMW Motorrad, Honda, Peugeot, Piaggio, Yamaha. At the French Motorcycle and Scooter Day, ACEM will present its initiatives in the fields of mobility, safety and environment.
